I planned on writing an “A Year in Review” blog post. Let me just share my intro for it.
I was supposed to say this as an opener:
“2023 is my most eventful year post-pandemic.” [Okay, that sounds grammatically incorrect.]
Then I realized, I had to find out if the world is already considered “post-pandemic.”
Unfortunately, there has been no official announcement. But hey, it’s not like 2020. We can now leave our homes, fly anywhere we wanted, and do fuck all.
I’m not meant to write this blog like this. But, I just had to get it out there. It’s a reminder of the three years since the start of the pandemic. I’m just waiting for the day that the pandemic is over. And we can say the words: post-pandemic.
But, I decided against it since it’s going to be the same as my “What I Learned from My Travels” blog. Instead of that, why don’t I share the goals I have in store for 2024? However, I’m not listing everything because well, I’d like to keep an air of mystery. Plus, I might have trouble following through with some of them.
Here are my top three big goals for 2024!
Goal 1: Learn (or Re-Learn) a Language

I’m upskilling. I believe this is important to me since I need to find other avenues to get more income and one of my strengths is language learning. Or maybe picking up the accent of the language I’m learning. Or, perhaps I’m good with vocabulary since I fucking hate verb conjugations. HAHAHA.
Either way, I’m planning on learning a new language for 2024. I have a couple of languages listed. And I’m in the middle of learning one, actually. Won’t tell you yet until I’m finished with the second bout. But yeah, fun!
Goal 2: Attend Creative Workshops

I was supposed to write a blog about why I wrote the Creative Workshops page, speaking of which I will update before the year ends! Haha. But here’s the reason I wrote this page.
I was yearning to create something. I was so frustrated one time I just wanted to create something with my hands. Then, I decided to paint something since I couldn’t get out of the damn house. But the painting wasn’t what I expected. Eh, whatever.
When I searched for creative workshops or art workshops on Google, there was NO updated blog about it. Like, I was annoyed by this. Then, I went on Instagram and saw various organizations, creatives, and companies offering workshops. I was relieved there were some I could attend in the future. That’s why I decided to write this page.
That said, I’m setting a goal to attend one creative workshop per quarter. It will depend on where and how much. But I definitely would need to go to one.
Goal 3: Driving Lessons

I’ve studied how to drive.
Twice.
Yet, I’m still a coward for not being able to drive on the road all this time. Honestly, I find it scary to drive in Manila. The sudden stops, drivers cutting, and drivers not using their signal lights to indicate where they are going. I could list every flaw that drivers do while on the road. But who am I to talk since I’m not a driver myself.
However, I’d like to overcome my fear of driving and learn to drive again this year. But, I’ll learn to drive an automatic this time. I’ve learned how to drive a manual transmission car. Sure, that’s a goal for most people. But to me, I don’t see myself driving one. It’s too much thinking while driving. That’s why I’m sticking to an automatic this time. As for when I’ll do this, it’s likely in the first half of the year. But if I don’t have time or money, then the second half. LOL.
Final Thoughts
I’m not an expert at goal setting. I go through life living it daily. However, I realized that I needed to aim for something. Or, do something to light up my reward center. Goal setting can help me achieve that feat.
Before I end this blog, I wanted to write my message about 2023. Writing a message for the year to end was a tradition when I was still a K-pop fan since I was active on Twitter and Tumblr. I cursed the year I wrote about sometimes. But here’s what I’ll say about 2023.
Thank you for all the learnings I received this year, 2023 + Universe. I believe I grew so much this year and I know I’ll continue to grow in the year ahead. I look forward to many things in 2024. And whatever obstacles come my way, I’m sure I’m unprepared, but I know that I don’t have to go through those things by myself. I leave whatever doubts and negative energy that 2023 brought me.
Thank you again, 2023. Let’s kick ass in 2024.
Till next time, dudes!
